I think that this is a global issue because girls aren't treated how the boys are being treated , which doesn't give the girls the opportunities that we truly and respectedly earned and/or deserved for it.

What we al ready know about gender inequality is that girls can not get proper education because there are forced to stay at home, cook and clean. In some developing countries girls are no considered not humans.

While we were researching our focus area, Gender Inequality, we found some information and videos that explain how it is a global and local issue. Unicef traveled all over the world and asked a small amount of girls the exact same question each time: “What’s it like to be a woman or girl today?” Their answers were different in many ways. Some girls said they have the same rights and opinions that men have, others though said differently, they said that they don’t have the equal rights and opinions as men do. They also said that mostly men have the opportunity to have education and a career, while girls and woman have to stay home cleaning.Also, education is still hard for girls in some regions and most girls don’t have the opportunity to have it.

I still believe Gender Inequality is a important global problem because the girls really don't get an equal share or an good eduacation, Also because it would be:
ReplyDeleteGirls stay home to sweep, To school is where they leap.(Because when they learn they take a leap towards an good education or they leap to school to get their minds smarten.)
So i think it's a global issue girls are not included, and boys get everything.
Article 28 states that you have the right to a good quality education. This article relates to are focus area because most girls in some developing countries don't go to school and don't get a good education.
ReplyDeleteruls have impruved but still need a push and some girls don't even get to go to school in places for e.g.in afganistan men throw acid at grils going to school so they can sare them form learning and in artical #28 it states You have the right to a good quality education. You should be encouraged to go to school to the highest level you can.

In article #28 the article says that everyone should be able to get a good eduacation which i think connects to Gender inequality and also it says you should be encouraged as well as included in school without having to worry about people being exclusive. So the article, 28 is a article that really connects to our research.
ReplyDeleteI think it is also a local issue because some people say that person cant participate in the game of soccer because there a girl or that person cant participate in gymnastics because there a boy.I think that we should spread awareness to all kids in our community that just because of there gender, race, or religion they can still do anything, say anything or participate in anything that you can.
ReplyDeleteArticle 27 states the children should have the right to clothing, a safe place to live, food, and to have the basic needs that a children needs. It also states that children should not be disadvantaged because of what other kids can do.
ReplyDeleteI think it is a LOCAL and GLOBAL issue because like Evan said some kids locally say that girls and play football or that boys can't sew, that is called gender discrimination or sexism. I think it is a global issue because around the world, like in the Dominican Republic girls don't get education or get to have a chance to get a good career, on the other hand, boys get to go to school and have a career while girls stay home, cooking and cleaning. Also, a few week ago on the internet I saw there were studies held in Canada that proofed that most abortions are by asian immigrants, they choose to abort their babies when they find out that their baby is a girl, which I find is unfair and unreasonable because girls are as good as boys, there is no difference.

article 18 states that you have the right to live with your parent(s) and this has to do with our topic because some women are killed because of there gender and therefore there some children who's mothers have been killed do not have a loving mother to help take care of them and nurse them.

They also state that when playing sports, it improves their self-confidence, self-esteem and they feel they have control over their body, which must be a great feeling for them since they aren't allowed to have education or a career.

We think these are important because they help us understand how lucky we are to be living a free country

both males and females should have the same rights, and we are lucky that our country and our school believe this.
ReplyDeletesome communities believe that males have better chances of working and making enough money to support their families. in those countries girls usually don't have the opportunity to go to school and learn.
We can start to promote gender equality in our own homes and schools. we can do this by making sure that both girls and boys in our community have the same rights and have the same opportunities. we can treat each other just the same and not exclude people because of their gender.

For most women around the world, gender equality is not available. They (woman), have not many rights, lower education, health concerns, and they aren’t really allowed to make decisions. This I think isn’t fair, I wonder why some people in the word think that men are more important/ powerful than men.
